Located on a residential wildlife estate with over 1100 hectares of bushveld and plains game on the outskirts of the Greater Kruger National Park, our learners are afforded the opportunity to experience the environment on a personal level, encouraging them to acquire a genuine consciousness for the importance of sustainability on a global scale. Southern Cross Schools
Southern Cross Schools is a co-ed Pre-school, IEB Preparatory School and College nestled in the heart of Hoedspruit, South Africa. They offer a kindergarten, primary school, and secondary school, along with a boarding house for students. Situated on a residential estate spanning over 1100 hectares of bushveld and plains wildlife, the school emphasizes nature, sports, culture, and the well-being of both students and staff. SCS stands out as one of the few schools in South Africa that utilizes a new educational model: an online IEB-accredited educational platform called Brainline.
Kindergarten (pre-school):
- Earth Tots Class: 6 months to 3 years
- Bush Baby Class - Grade 000: 3 to 4 years
- Porcupine Class - Grade 00: 4 to 5 years
- Wild Dog Class - Grade R: 5 to 6 years
Primary School (preparatory school):
- Grade 1 to 7
Secondary School (college):
- Grade 8 to 12

The way they learn
The Southern Cross Pre-school is a unique and special space. Through various age-appropriate activities, our children are encouraged to think creatively, collaborate with one another, and communicate effectively and appropriately. This enhances their critical thinking skills and promotes problem-solving.
